Congressman Cantor Reacts to
President’s State of the Union

WASHINGTON, DC - Chief Deputy Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA), today issued the following statement in response to President Bush’s State of The Union Address:

“Tonight the President revealed his agenda, driven by bold and innovative concepts on education, healthcare, and keeping America safe. He also emphasized the need for all members of Congress, regardless of party, to work together on behalf of the American people.

The top priority of the Federal Government is to protect our country and its citizens. Neither the President, nor I will shrink away from the responsibility of defeating the terrorists.

Regarding the rising cost of healthcare, the President rightfully noted that the best healthcare decisions are made by patients and their doctors, not by big government. I look forward to working on solutions to these and other problems facing Virginia’s and America’s families.”
