Congressman Eric Cantor Offers Support for Virginians Concerning MRSA Staph Infections

RICHMOND, VA - Due to the recent increase of staph infection cases in middle and high schools in Virginia, Congressman Eric Cantor (VA-07) has offered his office as a resource to families with questions about the staph infections and the federal information and resources available to them.  In addition, Cantor posted helpful links on his website with state and federal links to information regarding MRSA staph infections.

“With three of my own children in public schools, I know how serious families take the news of staph infections occurring in our middle and high schools.  Virginians seeking further information on how to prevent, recognize, and respond to staph infections can either call my office with questions or visit my website to find links to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health.  I have contacted local affected school divisions in the 7th District to offer any assistance we can give.  It is my hope that with increased caution and awareness, we can prevent the disease from spreading.”
